1.What is Window Film?
Window Film provides specific personal & property protection from the effects of the SUN such as protecting your furniture & floors from fading, saves money on your energy bills, reduces glare & heat build up, as well as added safety & security in the events that results in broken glass.
2. Is window film applied to the interior or exterior?
Typically window films are applied to the interior of your windows. There are window films designed to be applied to the exterior of your windows for special circumstances such as limited access to the interior surface & triple pane windows.
3. How long will film last?
The effective life of window film will vary by the type of film. All quality film for residential & commercial use are warranted by the film manufacturers for a minimum of seven years & up to the life of a home.
4.How should I clean my windows after film is applied?
Windows with film applied are easily cleaned without damage to their appearance , clean with your normal glass cleaning product ( windex) as long as it contains no abrasive materials.use a soft clean cloth, soft paper towel or synthetic sponge.
It takes about 30 days for the film to dry. You may see streaks or bubbles for a few days, don't worry that will go away. Don't wash the your windows for at least 30 days.
5.Will Film cause glass to break?
Glass breaks when stressed. There are 5 types of stress which may cause
glass to break.
1. Thermal stress- form absorption of solar radiation
2. Tensile stress- from the weight of the glass itself
3. Mechanical flexing stress- wind
4. Impact stress-flying objects,hail,baseball
5. twisting stress- building or window frame sagging or settling
No window film does not break glass.
6.Will the film darken my home?
No! In fact, our film are designed in such a way to allow visible light through. The technology behind this is quite complex, but the result is simple: visible light is allowed in while glare is eliminated.
7.Will my house lose heat from the sun in the winter because of the film?
No!In fact, with our films installed on your windows, you will lose much less heat in the winter than you used to .Our films will seal the pores in the glass & act as an insulator, which will gently reduce the amount of heat your house loses through its windows. You can think of the film as a barrier between your house and the outside temperature. When its hot outside your house will stay cool. When its cold outside, your house will stay warm.
8. How Does film improve safety?
Our film are very strong & when bonded to the glass in your windows will prevent the glass from shattering. The film acts as a sheath which contains shattering glass & minimizes damage. Some of our strongest films can prevent thieves from smashing through your windows & breaking into your home or business.
